You're Engaged! Now, What?
EEEK! You are engaged! You have been waiting for this moment for so long! I bet there are so many things going through your head! Questions like who to invite, when will you get married, where will you get married, and there are so many people to contact. HOLD ON! Do not get overwhelmed! There is plenty of time to plan the wedding of your dreams. Did you know the average engagement period lasts a year to a year-and-a-half? Even with this time frame, there are a few things you will want to get done as soon as possible. So, you are probably wondering where to start? 1. Call Those Important People This means calling your parents and BFFs. Chances are they already know it was going to happen, so they are dying to hear all about it. They are probably even waiting by the phone for the call and pictures!
2. Get a Manicure Your hands will be the focus of a lot of attention, so you want to make sure they look their best! If you do not want them painted, just make sure they are shaped and clean.
3. Post a Ring Photo Whether it is a selfie or just a ring shot, this will be the focus of everyone’s likes and love! Remember if it isn’t on social media, it never happened! HAHA! 4. Get Your Ring Insured If your fiancé did not already take care of this, make sure you contact your insurance company to have the ring listed on your policy. You can add your ring to your homeowner's or renter’s insurance. 5. Get Your Ring Sized Sometimes your ring will not fit the right way and will need to be sized. You should have this done as soon as possible. You wouldn’t want to be showing your beautiful new engagement ring to someone and have it fall on the ground and get lost. 6. Take Some Time Take time and enjoy this moment. This means you need to take time to talk and figure out what you want and how you want your wedding to go. This should all be talked about before you jump into planning your wedding. This is a big step for the both of you. Why not enjoy this time with each other before Aunt Bertha starts in with the questions.
